Levi Bellfield loses bid to challenge Milly Dowler conviction

Application for leave to appeal against his conviction for the murder of a young person is rejected by three judges in London

has lost an attempt to challenge his conviction for kidnapping and murder of Milly Dowler.

The application for leave to appeal by Bellfield, 43, was rejected by the Lord Chief Justice, Lord Judge, Judge Wyn Williams and Mr Justice Maddison, sitting in the court of appeal london.

Bellfield was sentenced to life in June 2011 after being convicted of kidnapping and killing 13 year old Milly, after a trial at the Old Bailey.

Milly was abducted in the street on the way to school at his home in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, in March 2002.

In 2008 he was sentenced to life for the murder of McDonnell, 19, in 2003, killing Delagrange, 22, and the attempted murder of Sheedy, 18, in year 2004.
