Ugandan president Museveni says US troops will not engage in battle

Barack Obama has sent 100 soldiers to help in the fight against the rebel group Lord's Resistance Army

of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, the president said Sunday that the U.S. military "personnel" should be sent to Uganda to help fight the rebel group Lord's Resistance Army will not participate in the real struggle.

Museveni at a press conference that he was wrong to say that the U.S. was sending troops to fight the LRA and its leader, Joseph Kony.

"It is best to call U.S. personnel, not troops," said Museveni.

Americans will gather information, he said.
