When Robert was 16, has acted as a lookout in a drug deal that killed a young woman. Robert was not what is known as the "trigger man", and according to his testimony, at least he did not witness the murder happens. But because he was involved in a crime which led to the murder, he is automatically guilty under Rule assassinate crime. In Robert's case, although the judge referred to his young age, noting that this was the least culpable of all defendants, no place in any part of the process for the exercise of judicial discretion. More than 100 years, the juvenile justice system was created in the United States to prevent children from being trapped in a network of adults. The court recognized that the adolescent brain has not fully matured (PDF), leaving adolescents less risk averse, less able to weigh the consequences and possibly less guilty. This separate system of justice was more or less dismantled, with devastating consequences.

Although tried as an adult, Robert sits with other young offenders in a juvenile detention facility while awaiting sentencing. He reminded everyone watching every drop like flies on the set of a life sentence - and be totally unable to understand what it means
