12A: the certificate of death (but not too much gore) | Morven Crumlish

The Hunger Games is to be cut for the certificate, without a land 12A man of 15 drowned and adults unnecessarily PG

is fantastic news that upcoming film adaptation of The Hunger Games was cut to fit a 12A certificate. "Withdrawal of digital blood splatter on the wounds and weapons" was dragged from the terrifying edge of the certificate of 15 years, and he gently stroked in the lap of children 12 years of reading books in the holiday Christmas, and whose parents are wondering if they are going through the first couple of chapters of Waterstones.

Now, at least, we can consolidate our children in the multiplex without any legal obligation to feel guilty when "intense thematic material and violent disturbing images" to bring to sleep with the lights on. The British Board of Film Classification has spoken: who am I to argue

nothing predicts mediocrity and disappointment as well as a film that is the hallmark of 12A. Twelve years should not be a highly coveted target audience, and preferences and specialties, 12 years should not be imposed on the rest of us. I'm sure you are literally about 12 years out there that are a delight, but overall, I think it's best to give a wide margin, at least those that are not necessary for your home. Early adolescence is a time of high drama: the independence and adulthood are far away and impossible, however, the remnants of childhood seem equally viable. The films that fit this demographic deliberately usually end up miserable, hysterical and confused.

most films 12A would be better if they just cut the coal and left for a PG, or accepted by the history of the adult to say, and let the BBFC do worse. With none of the joyous anarchy, innocent of the best films of the child and, in general, leaving aside the emotional maturity or moral complexity that would appeal to adult films 12A is a land without a man risk sexual humor something (but not sex), and extended and choreographed by large green screen scenes of chaos and violence (but no blood, consequence or result).

Repression of a film to the constriction of a young teen audience does favors, or artificially impose adult content in what is ultimately a film for children. Last summer, the film series of Marvel superheroes could, with a little skill and a little less cynicism were made fit for children that should have been watching, but, of course, what self-respecting teen wants to go see a PG

The certificate 12A seems more a marketing strategy of a legal qualification. Not that the offender "A" to do so. Accompanied by a child of any age can go to a film 12A, where you will hear this term only, the look, briefly, in a bare buttock, and subjected to varying degrees of "danger", "bloody violence" and "the sexual humor ". box office triumphs in both directions.

adulthood won. Children must be protected. The years that bind together fragile? I'd rather not think about them.
