Lewandowska Michelina attacked with a Taser, then buried in a cardboard box in the woods
A man who attacked his companion of his Tasering and buried alive in a cardboard box was found guilty of attempted murder.
Marcin Kasprzak, 25, was convicted after a trial at Leeds Crown Court, but co-defendants Patryk Borys, 18, was acquitted. The victim was Michelina Lewandowska, 27, mother of the son of Kasprzak.
She was placed in a box and buried in the ground in the woods near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, in May. She managed to escape by scratching in the box with her engagement ring.
She said the test was in bed an hour before she was able to free himself, and was convinced he was dying.
The box was covered with earth and a strong tree branch. After escaping, he made a sign to a passing motorist.
In a statement after the jury delivered its verdict, said the idea that her son gave her the strength to make their way outside the box and save.
two acknowledged the removal of a prior hearing and Kasprzak admitted possessing a prohibited weapon.
Judge Peter Collier said he could be sentenced Jan. 13.
The court heard that Lewandowska, who is Polish, was attacked by fellow Pole Kasprzak after their relationship was over and wanted his three year old son, Jakub.
He told the court that he only intended to scare her and had no intention to kill. Borys, Huddersfield, chose not to testify.
"I prayed to God to help me survive so I can take care of my son. The idea of ??my son gave me the strength to fight my way out of the box and save me.
"For many years, I wanted Marcin Kasprzak much. But after the horrible attack against me, my feelings for him have turned to hatred. "I have nightmares that continue to Marcin will find and kill me. My only hope is that you can accept that what I was doing was very wrong.
