I learned that the U.S. is not as idyllic New England, the orchards of my childhood. But I am certain to belong
Only if you are in the U.S. who really understand the intellectual culture of the north. Also, if you're a fan of Thanksgiving, it is clear that there is no competition with other festivals.
In my early years, became solidified a tradition to go on long trips through New England to witness the changing foliage, maple candy snacks, cider and donuts. I also grew up doing stupid handprint turkeys in art classes at school. As an adult, do what I can take my 9 - and 7 year old niece every year in the same hay wagon through the apple orchards to pick apples, I visited when I was your age
Growing up, I never noticed a contradiction between my classical education in New England in America, and the things that made me distinctly different from other children at school. Today could be hailed as a Pakistani Muslim American who merged and American culture. On the other hand, could be called a "coconut".
Over the past decade, American Muslims have been forced to reconcile these contradictions, as they came face to face with the most bitter of American reality. It should come as no surprise that our country, whose history begins with the conquest, surely apply to us as such.
