The son of a prominent Pakistani politician who was murdered by his own bodyguard after he criticized the law on blasphemy was abducted at gunpoint in his hometown of Lahore.

Shahbaz Taseer, 27, was on his way to work around 10:30 (0630 GMT), when he was taken to a busy intersection in Gulberg, the most exclusive of the city. The kidnappers have not been identified, but there are fears that jihadists are involved.
