Teacher Network newsletter: Aung San Suu Kyi, Wimbledon and Breadline Britain

Tour this week

useful resources, blogs and advice

Another busy week occurred in the past and much of my time this week has focused on the mass Guardian Breadline Britain in which he examines the impact of measures government austerity. I spent part of last week to read the comments made in the survey, we asked to participate in their children's experience of being hungry in class. They made a very sad reading for a Sunday afternoon.

If you catch our blog on the results of the investigation then take a look here and participated in a Q & A session on Wednesday with Carmelo McConnell, CEO of magical breakfast, an organization charity offering breakfast clubs in some 200 primary schools. We have a range of resources for use in lunch magic schools - those at the bottom of this blog on the free breakfast scheme in Wales director Marian Thomas

has also been busy with our computer teacher for the day Thursday. It was a complete sell-out and the response has been tremendous. The speakers were passionate, committed and enthusiastic as our delegates. Here are some highlights from Twitter:

We will share resources on the GTN early to all members.

We are in the process of developing a panel of experts to help guide and advise us and we would like to hear from any teacher who would like to participate MFL. For more information email Emma Drury.

I just had a quick navigation on our jobs on site and still have about 2,400 jobs available for spending all those - Take a look here and for those of you who wish to announce the team here are ready to take your call - 020 3353 2010 or email schools.enquiries @ guardian.co.uk. Shade asked, Sonia, Michaela or Matt -. They are beautiful

new educational resources network

With Wimbledon starting tomorrow is the perfect time to have a bit of a problem for the tennis courts.

Tennis To help the Foundation has developed this set of activities called cross Grand Slam Challenge. They say it is aimed at 7-9 years of age, but could be adapted for older students also with some adaptation.

There are many more resources available for research include the Tennis Foundation math and reading great resource issue. There are many more on the site -. Just look at the "founding tennis" phrase

But if tennis is not your thing, then why not think about doing a bit of class discussion. We have an excellent resource for English-speaking countries of the Union which can be downloaded, completed and used to stimulate an active, exciting classroom activity. There is no end to things can debate
